Cozen O’Connor member Michael D. Handler has been elected chairperson of the Northwest Insurance Coverage Association (“NICA”) and administrative assistant Diane Finafrock has been elected the organization’s secretary-treasurer.
A member of the firm resident in the Seattle office, Handler concentrates his practice in the areas of insurance coverage, environmental coverage litigation, health law and defense litigation. Handler represents national insurance company clients in matters including environmental remediation, construction defects, class actions arising from alleged product defects, and alleged bad faith claims-handling. He also prepares legal development updates and in-house presentations for insurer clients and presents seminars on insurance coverage and bad faith topics both to other Seattle-area professionals and nationally.
Admitted to practice in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Washington, Handler is a member of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers and the King County (Wash.) Bar Association. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.S., 1990) and Boston University School of Law (J.D., 1993).
Resident in the Seattle office, Finafrock has been with the firm since 1991, handling a range of responsibilities for members of the insurance department and served as assistant to the Seattle office manager, overseeing a variety of projects.
Finafrock is a graduate of Shoreline Community College, where she earned her Legal Secretarial Degree. She is a frequent volunteer for several Seattle-area community organizations.
