Cozen O’Connor member Thomas M. Jones recently lectured at the American Conference Institute’s (ACI) National Advanced Forum on Pollution Liability Insurance: Underwriting and Claims Strategies for Managing Risk and Minimizing Liability. Jones’ presentation, entitled “Claims Management and Litigation: Strategies for Expediting Claims and Avoiding Disputes,” dealt with high exposure losses; the relationship between pollution legal liability, general liability and property coverage; cooperation, disclosure and site access; dispute resolution methods; and assembling the appropriate team of defense, coverage and subrogation counsel. The conference was held at the Flatotel in New York, N.Y.
A member in the Seattle office, Jones’ practice spans many areas of law, including professional and product liability, general and appellate litigation, insurance coverage and other matters, and technology and e-commerce. He is vice-chair of the national insurance department and heads the electronic discovery disputes practice area.
Jones is a member of the American, Washington State, Oklahoma and Seattle-King bar associations, the DRI, Washington Defense Trial Lawyers Association and ARMA International. He has acted as lead trial insurer counsel in some of the highest profile insurance coverage cases in the country. Jones was also selected by his peers as a Washington "Super Lawyer" from 2000 – 2007 and has authored several published articles.
